It`s all going on in Montevideo.

El encuentro iberoamericano de arte urbano “Muta Montevideo” tendrá lugar en Montevideo este fin de semana de noviembre 22-24. Promete mucho. Nos  alivia que  Muta Montevideo no esté patrocinado por ninguna fabricante  norteamericano de latas de espray. Organizado por el colectivo “En Montevideo Nunca Pasa Nada”, “Muta Montevideo” cuenta con 40 artistas invitados.  Entre algunos diez artistas argentinos: porteños Ice, Pelos dePlumas http://www.flickr.com/photos/pelosdeplumas/

This weekend the “Muta Montevideo” (Change Montevideo) Iberian American meeting of urban art will take pance in Montevideo. It is a relief that Muta Montevideo is not sponsored by any north American manufacturer of cans of spray paint. Organized by the group “En Montevideo Nunca Pasa Nada” (In Montevideo nothing ever happens), “Muta Montevideo” can boast some 40 invited artists. La mitad de los artistas invitados son uruguayos. Montevideo  ya tiene su graffiti de hace más de una década en el cual destacan las letras y monos de MIN8, RAF y KNCR Crew. En Montevideo en los últimos años si que ha pasado algo: se ha legalizado la marihuana. Pasa que hay una vibrante escena músical de raperos como Santi Flow).  

Half of the invited artsits are Uruguayan. Montevideo already has its graffiti stretching back over more than a decade, in which the letters and characters of MIN8, RAF and KNCR Crew stand out. In Montevideo things have happened in recent years: marijuana has been legalized. There is a vibrant musical scene, especially of rappers such as Santi Flow.

 La explosión de arte urbano que Montevideo está  viviendo es parte de esta movida más ancha; artísticamente  mucho se ha desarrollado entorno al venezolano estudiante a la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes de Montevideo , el brillante Alfalfa http://alfalfa.com.uy.

The explosión of urban art in Montevideo is part of this wider movement; artistically much of it has grown up around the venezualan immigrant to Montevideo  Alfalfa. and student at the free Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (National School of Fine Arts).
